If you’re smart, though, you’ll install MacVim, and not just because it’s free (I’ve bought licenses to and used BBEdit and TextMate). No direction here will spark more controversy than this one, so install the editor you like best. Install Accessorizer and configure it according to its quick-start guide.Note: you must install Xcode, even if you don’t plan to write iOS or Mac apps, so that you can compile things like rubygems. As of this writing, that’s Xcode 3, and Xcode 4 is available as a Developer Preview.
